What to expect at your first visit:
Because you are the expert in your own life, I will take considerable time listening to your concerns, challenges, and goals at our initial session. We will also spend some time getting to know one another.  Once you’ve specified what you’d like to accomplish in therapy, I will make some recommendations regarding approaches that may aid in reducing your symptoms and facilitating healing. We will also discuss a possible time frame for your therapy.

When you return for your follow-up session, we will begin treatment. I always remind my clients that this is your therapy- not mine, so I will be looking for your feedback and will work to make adjustments if you prefer a different approach or direction.

Due to the efficacy of the tools I use, my clients often see considerable improvement in 4-8 sessions, but more complex cases may take longer. As a solution-focused therapist, it’s always my goal to work myself out of a job and get you feeling better as soon as possible. If you have additional questions regarding my approach, please contact our office to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation.Type your paragraph here.

A NOTE FROM WENDY:

Are you feeling stuck and unable to move forward due to past hurts, present challenges, and fear of the future? Have you tried counseling before and found it to be ineffective, impersonal, and inauthentic? If you’re ready to reclaim your life, I want you to know that your healing is my passion.

As your therapist, it’s my highest goal for you to feel supported and validated during our time together, so I will provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to explore your concerns. Because I am a strengths-based counselor, I view my clients as resourceful and resilient. I take a collaborative approach to counseling, knowing that you are the expert in your own life.

My specialties include anxiety, panic disorder, depression, PTSD, trauma and abuse, and chronic illness. By using the tools of EMDR, hypnosis, mindfulness, CBT, and solution-focused techniques, my clients often see improvement within a few sessions. In addition to mental health, I also provide coaching for career and life changes, woman’s issues, and overall wellness and quality of life.

As a wife and mother, a business owner, and an auto-immune survivor, I have learned how to overcome adversity. Regardless of what you’re facing, we can work together to unearth your strengths, find and implement solutions, and open the doors to the life you want to lead.
